The investment gap

Challenge #1: A Global Investment Gap

Africa: 18% of the World’s Population. Less Than 1% of Global VC Funding.

Africa is home to some of the world’s most dynamic entrepreneurs and innovation ecosystems. Yet African startups still receive less than 1% of global venture capital funding.

The problem is not a reflection of the quality of African innovation — it reflects unequal access to global capital networks and investment visibility.

Our Response: Connecting Capital to Opportunity

The Impact Coalition Summit brings together UK and EU enterprises, investors, and the African diaspora with some of Africa's most promising and investment-ready startups.
Through curated conversations, founder showcases, and startup pitches, the summit creates direct pathways between global capital and African innovation.

"The summit changed how our procurement team thinks about sourcing digital talent. Three hires and a partnership later, the impact is real."

Challenge #2: Untapped Global Talent

In Africa, 47% of STEM graduates are women. But only 23% work in tech.

Across Africa, hundreds of thousands of digital professionals are trained each year — yet many global employers remain unaware of this talent pipeline. Women make up 47% of STEM graduates in sub-saharan Africa, but only 23-30% enter tech careers.

Meanwhile, businesses across the UK and EU face an increasing shortage of digital skills and often struggle to access diverse, skilled, and cost-effective talent pools capable of supporting remote work models.

Our Response: Inclusion by Design

Through our talent partner organisations — Generation Ghana, MESTx, eSAL, Azubi Africa, Blossom Academy, and eJobsAfrica — we connect global employers with a growing pipeline of highly trained tech professionals.
Approximately 75% of graduates across these partner organisations are women — reflecting a strong commitment to expanding opportunities for women in technology and digital careers.
